Amelia Guttridge is a screenwriter and director who often returns to themes of shame, dysfunctional families and female relationships. She is largely preoccupied with the interior lives of complex and transgressive people, and writes scripts for film and television.

 

Her award-winning directorial debut - drama/comedy short 'Uneven Bars' - was filmed in 2024 and hit the festival circuit in 2025. In 2026, her work is beginning to explore new genres of magical realism and science fiction.

 

Her TV pilot 'Clara Just Isn't Fun' was previously shortlisted for the Jed Mercurio Mentorship Programme and the Studio 21 Drama Series Competition. She has delivered a creative writing workshop at HMP High Down Prison, and taken part in a Female Pilot Club writer's room led by Georgia Pritchett.
